I love creating commissioned works, especially large statement pieces. I'm best known for my edgy subject matter, bright colors and ability to create a piece of work that truly stands out. I work in 3 different mediums each delivering a distinctive style. Be sure to check out each mediums gallery to determine which style is right for you. Each painting is tailored to the personal mission of the collector while my unique style captures their vision into a powerful masterpiece.
When painting non-commissioned artworks I usually have no idea how the piece will turn out- and this is what I love. I let my mood influence the colors I choose and instinctually create shapes and lines according to how the painting evolves over time. With commissions comes expectations of how the piece will turn out, this sometimes results in a guessing game for me, trying to predict what the client wants, if it will be harmonious with it's surroundings, etc.
After years of commissioning experience I have found that what works both best for me and the client is getting an overall idea of what the client is after, a rough color palette to work with and if there is any previous work of mine that they are particularly taken to. This allows me some guidance but also gives me the freedom to find some soul in the piece.
Assuming that you are choosing me to commission a painting based on my previous work and painting style you must be open to a certain level of stylization and interpretation of the subject matter.
Imagery for personal commissions
When providing images it’s best to send a selection. I will know when I see the image I can paint but it’s hard to be specific about what it needs to be. Sometimes it’s just a feeling. I generally paint quite simple compositions and I prefer singular subject images.
After discussing details with the client I will give a rough timeframe, it can be anywhere from 1-3 months depending on the size. If there is a particular date the client needs the work by I will endeavor to meet that.
A 50% deposit is required to begin the process and full balance is due upon completion of work.
I take a lot of pride in my work and it is very important to me that every collector is 100% happy with their finished painting. I do not expect payment if you are unsatisfied in any way. That being said, I have never come across this situation.
Please do not hesitate to get in touch with any questions and queries.
